This was a solo production by Nilima Devi using wonderful compositions of her Guru Pandit Sunderlal Gangani and performed with musicians in the U. K in 2001.
Dedicated to the work of one of the 20th century's great Kathak poets - Pandit Sunderlal Gangani -KKSK presents some of his finest, most imaginative poetic works as written in the ancient Braj language. It explores various expressive Kathak elements, including pada, sawaiya, thumri and a poetic form of ginti, elaborating on unique technical compositions rarely experienced by audiences outside India.
Choreographed and performed by Nilima Devi, KKSK featured the western storyteller Liza Watts and an ensemble of live musicians from India and the UK. |
